Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Cognenti LLC, doing business as Tendmory ("Tendmory," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and shares information across the Tendmory website and its subdomains (*.tendmory.com), the Tendmory Care app (for families), the Tendmory Work app (for facility staff and field crews), and the memorial, care-status, and family-communication services we provide on behalf of cemeteries, funeral homes, and crematories (together, the "Services").
Tendmory serves two kinds of people: the facilities (cemeteries, funeral homes, crematories) who subscribe to our software, and the families and visitors those facilities serve. This policy covers both.
Information we collect
- Account information. When a facility or a staff member creates an account we collect names, email addresses, and roles. Families sign in to the Care app with a mobile phone number, verified by a one-time code.
- Family & contact information. Facilities using Tendmory may enter your name, phone number, and email so they can keep you informed about arrangements, care status, and services.
- Records and memorial content. Facilities store interment and case records; families and visitors may contribute memorial content such as tributes, photos, and candle messages. In the Care app you may attach a reference photo to a grave-care order; in the Work app staff capture before-and-after photos of completed work.
- Photos & camera. The apps request access to your camera and photo library only when you choose to add a photo. We access only the images you select.
- Payment information. Care-app payments and facility billing are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store full card numbers.
- Device & notification data. If you enable notifications, the mobile apps register a push-notification token so we can send visit updates and reminders. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
- Approximate location. To help you find a cemetery near you or show a grave's location, we use the location details you provide (such as a state or cemetery you select). The apps do not track your location in the background.
- Usage information. Like most services, we collect standard technical data (IP address, device and browser type, pages or screens visited) and use cookies and similar analytics technologies to operate and improve the Services.
Text messaging (SMS)
With your consent, we send informational text messages on behalf of your facility — such as case and care-status updates, appointment and service reminders, and account notifications. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. See our Terms & Conditions for the full messaging terms.
No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with, or sold to, any third party.
How we use information
- To provide the Services — managing records, coordinating cases between facilities, scheduling and carrying out grave-care visits, and processing payments.
- To keep families informed about arrangements, care status, and services, through the apps, email, and (with consent) text message.
- To send transactional notifications you've asked for, and to provide customer support.
- To secure, maintain, and improve the Services, and to comply with legal obligations.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share it only:
- With your facility. Information entered about a case or memorial is visible to the facility that manages it, and content you post publicly (for example, a tribute on a memorial page) is visible to other visitors of that page.
- With service providers who help us run the Services — hosting, payment processing (Stripe), push notifications and app infrastructure (Expo), and email and SMS delivery — under contracts that limit their use of the information to providing those services. SMS opt-in data and consent are never shared for marketing.
- With accounting integrations a facility connects. If a facility connects its QuickBooks Online company, we transmit that facility's sales and payment records — amounts, dates, descriptions, and the payer's name and billing address — to Intuit on the facility's behalf. See "QuickBooks integration" below.
- For legal reasons, when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Tendmory, our customers, or others.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy continues to apply to the transferred information.
QuickBooks integration
Facilities can connect their own QuickBooks Online company to Tendmory so completed payments are exported to their books automatically. When a facility enables this, we send Intuit the facility's sales and payment records (amounts, dates, line descriptions, and — where collected at checkout — the payer's name and billing address), and we store the OAuth tokens for the connection encrypted on our infrastructure. We only ever write to the QuickBooks company the facility connected; we do not read or share other data from it. Intuit's handling of that data is governed by Intuit's privacy statement. A facility can disconnect QuickBooks at any time in Settings, which deletes the stored tokens; records already exported remain in QuickBooks under the facility's control.
Data retention and security
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services and meet legal obligations. Interment and case records are retained at the direction of the facility that owns them. We use industry-standard safeguards — encryption in transit, access controls, and audited infrastructure — to protect the information we hold.
Your choices and rights
- Notifications. Turn push notifications on or off in your device settings; reply STOP to any text to stop SMS; use the unsubscribe link in any non-essential email.
- Access & correction. Contact us — or the facility that manages your records — to access or correct your personal information.
- Account & data deletion. You can delete your Care-app account from within the app (Account → Delete account), or email [email protected] and we will delete your personal information, subject to records a facility is legally required to keep.
- State privacy rights. We honor applicable rights under U.S. state privacy laws, including the right to know, correct, and delete.
Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version and update the effective date above; material changes will be communicated through the Services.
